We work round the clock to increase access to quality education for marginalized children, orphans, and particularly adolescent girls living in fragile and insecurity-affected settings. Our programs provide tailored solutions to students facing multiple barriers to education to acquire relevant skills, creating opportunities for positive transitions to secondary school and dignified livelihoods. Our integrated approach is based on extensive research on what works to increase marginalized girls’ learning outcomes, retention, and wellbeing. We put girls at the center of our programs and build a supportive environment for them in the community and at school. At the individual level, FTVF helps girls develop their academic competencies alongside leadership and life skills, raising their confidence and voices. At the community level, we work with parents and traditional and religious leaders to shift negative gender and social norms affecting education outcomes, increasing support for girls’ education and active participation in school. FTVF Administrators at times work with the Nigerian Ministries of Education and school staff to improve the quality of teaching, strengthen supervisory capacity, and develop gender-transformative and inclusive policies.

Donate NowOn top of the underdiscussed topics in Nigeria is menstrual health, feminine hygiene, and reproductive health. For a reason, people shy away from. If not discussed properly, this lack of awareness can result in serious issues for women, from infections that could lead to sexual and reproductive diseases to early pregnancies.
This initiative started in 2020, and we have touched over 5,000 lives and distributed sanitary towel and essentials to over 30,000. Our most recent outreach was at Oko-Agbon, Ebute Metta where we had officials of Molped Plc and also representatives of The BMBG Foundation from the UK.
It’s however sad that in a recent study conducted since the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, it was stated that 1 in 3 young people feel less confident because they’ve missed school activities due to lack of sanitary items, and parents/guardians in the country are worried about their ongoing ability to afford period products – an issue known as period poverty.
